Today, I want to give you something that's a little different to what I usually write about. I want to present you with something that looks more toward the future and what might lie ahead of us. To do this, I'm going to lean on a guy who explains all of this brilliantly. Come on the journey with me.
Murad Mahmudov is fairly well-known on X, and I've followed him for quite some time. He's incredibly bullish toward meme coins in the crypto market and his stance is around believing in something, and the importance thereof. However, what I've always found fascinating about Murad is that his knowledge of the markets and macroeconomy in general is incredibly strong. So, he's not another person on X who's shouting about this coin or that coin, he backs up his thesis with hard facts.
The honest truth is that the world is changing, and it's human nature to resist or deny large-scale changes, especially those concerning the future of the world. This stems from emotions such as fear, uncertainty or emotional discomfort. This has been seen for things such as climate change, technological disruption, political shifts and so the list goes on. The same applies to our financial system and the economy, everything is changing before our eyes and most people are resisting it, and that concerns me.
I went ahead and tracked down a few studies that speak to the fear or resistance of change:
It's a lot of reading, but it's honestly what we should all be reading to ensure we understand what our brains might be doing in this very moment, with the way the world currently is.
Back to Murad. Murad published a video a couple of months ago, entitled, "The Power of Belief". In this video, Murad unveils his detailed investment thesis for a specific crypto token called SPX6900. Through the video, he provides a fascinating look at the world at large, with insight into over-sexualisation, dopamine hunger, attention demanding and so forth. He looks at the way the world's getting more expensive and more competitive. Further, governments are printing money and borrowing money, wealth inequality is growing, AI is coming for our jobs, spiritual decay in accelerating and so is nihilism. So what? Well, that's going to have an enormous change to everything, including what we invest in. And from here, he gets into his discussion around crypto in general and then goes into belief and the important.
This video isn't about a specific coin you need to buy, nor am I suggesting that you buy a coin Murad mentions. Instead, this video is a fascinating look at the world, and specifically investing as the world changes. I, personally, feel that this is a video everybody should be watching because it's going to open your mind toward some of the change that lies ahead of us, at the very least.
The first 15–18 minutes is a masterclass in the economy, so even if that's as far as you can get, you'll benefit. But if you go past that, Murad gets into the crypto side of things and gets into his thesis around how you should be looking at cryptocurrency and where the opportunities lie.
What's my take?
Gosh, there's a lot to this. I love psychology and investing, I'm a massive believer in people spending less and less time with each other, which fuels the idea of believing in something together, or being part of something - people want to feel included. The way Murad speaks about this, off the back of his macro look at the economy, resonates with me. Is SPX6900 the correct one? I don't know, I don't have a crystal ball, but Murad's reasoning is really strong. I do hold SPX6900 in my portfolio, I bought at the beginning of 2025, and I'm close to buying more. But, specific coins aside, Murad's general stance around how the world is and what people want, is dead right in my opinion.
A quick overview of SPX6900 if you didn't watch the whole video or what a recap:
SPX6900 (ticker: SPX) is a meme-based cryptocurrency created in August 2023, designed to satirically challenge traditional financial benchmarks like the S&P 500 by combining internet humour with crypto mechanics

And based on what Murad has said, and some research I did myself, it really does feel as though this is the direction we're going in. Perhaps not this specific coin, but the general way that Zoomers are doing things compared to X's, Boomers, etc.
Key traits often associated with Zoomers:
So, when we look at these traits along with what Murad's saying, it's not a far stretch to picture where we will be, decades from now.
I'm in my 40s and I find myself spending a great deal of time looking at these sorts of topics. Not because I want to know the latest slang like cap, bet, sus, bussin', rizz, fam, alpha, slay, gucci and so the list goes on, but to understand where the generations below me are, what they're thinking, and ultimately, what their influence will be on the world and, on topic, the economy and where we all invest. Let's say you're in your 40s, and you plan to retire at 65, that's 20–25 years from now - your money will be invested, you'll want to know where it should be invested and the influence of Zoomers could very well be playing a large influence in this. 20–25 years isn't a long time considering the acceleration artificial intelligence is going to bring.
So that's why I covered this topic, not because we need to make moves right now, but we need to be aware of how the youth are thinking, what they're interested in and where things will probably go in the future. We've all heard or read about the greatest transfer of wealth, and that wealth is going to need to go somewhere - perhaps not this handover, but most definitely the following one - when your kids have kids - them!
