Introducing HelloHours

HelloHours is a simple Mac menu bar app that helps you keep track of the people who matter across different time zones. Instead of opening a world clock, checking a calendar, or doing mental timezone maths, HelloHours gives you a quick, human-friendly view of each person’s local time, location, and likely availability - right from your menu bar.

The app is designed for anyone who works with international clients, remote teams, friends, family, or collaborators in different parts of the world. Each contact can be added with a name, location, timezone, and usual awake hours, allowing HelloHours to show whether they are likely awake, asleep, starting their day, or winding down for the evening.

The goal is not just to show time, but to make time more useful. HelloHours helps you decide when to send a message, schedule a call, or hold off until a better moment - making communication feel more thoughtful, respectful, and effortless.

I've worked hard to make this app look as good as possible. I aimed for a careful balance between displaying enough information but not too much, like many of the other apps. It was a fine balance, but I think I got right:
