TickBar Privacy Policy

TickBar is a macOS menu bar application that displays live market information, including BTC/USD, SPY, and selected S&P 500 stock prices.

Your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy explains how TickBar handles information.

1. Information We Collect

TickBar does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal information.

TickBar does not collect, store, or share personal data such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.

TickBar does not use built-in analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.

2. App Preferences and Local Storage

TickBar may store app preferences locally on your device in order to function properly. This can include settings such as:
- selected instruments
- display preferences
- refresh interval
- launch at login preference

This information is stored locally on your Mac and is not transmitted to us.

3. Market Data Requests

To display live market prices, TickBar requests market data from public third-party data sources over the internet.

These requests are used only to retrieve price information needed for the app to function. We do not use these requests to identify you personally.

As with any internet request, third-party data providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, device network information, and standard request metadata as part of normal web communications.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information because TickBar does not collect personal information from you.

5. Children’s Privacy

TickBar is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Security

Because TickBar does not collect or store personal information on our servers, we do not maintain user personal data for this app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
